The history of the Cebu Mandaue Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporation (CMFCCCII) traces back to its establishment in 1996. As a member unit of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the organization was founded with the vision of fostering economic growth, social progress, and promoting cultural exchange between the Filipino and Chinese communities.
The CMFCCCII was led by its pioneering Founding President, Go Sing King, who played a significant role in shaping the chamber during its early years. Over time, the leadership baton was passed on to other esteemed individuals, including Simon Chuahee, Enrico D. Ang, Lucio Sy Ong, Felix Tan Ng, Antonio Tan Dy, Li Chung Ping, Nelson Lim Go, Corkay Lim Chan, Carlos Go Co, past President Lucio Tapnio, and current President Justin Sy Uy.
In 1997, under the leadership of President Go Sing King, a delegation of 64 members from CMFCCCII established a sisterhood with the "Quanzhou General Chamber of Commerce," further strengthening international ties and fostering cooperation between the two organizations.
Throughout its existence, CMFCCCII has grown steadily, attracting almost 100 members who represent the elite of the Chinese community in Mandaue City, which is located in the central part of Cebu Province. Bordered by Cebu City in the south and Lapu-Lapu City in the east, the city covers an area of 34.5 square kilometers.
Despite being relatively young, the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Mandaue has rapidly gained prominence and influence within the local community. It serves as a vital platform for the Chinese community's elites, comprising both experienced overseers and dynamic young core leaders, collectively contributing to the region's economic and social development.
Over the past 27 years, CMFCCCII has actively engaged in various initiatives to promote economic prosperity, social progress, and cultural understanding. Collaborating with other Chinese incorporations, the chamber has played an active role in enhancing the integration of Filipino and Chinese cultures, fostering friendship between the Filipino and Chinese peoples, and contributing to the greater well-being of the Philippines.
The organization has been actively involved in philanthropy, donating funds for school buildings in rural areas, providing aid to Filipino disaster victims, and participating in large-scale free clinic activities. Moreover, CMFCCCII has worked closely with the Mandaue City Government to promote beneficial tax policies and sponsored various activities, such as the Mandaue Festival.
Through its efforts, the Cebu Mandaue Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporation has established itself as an inseparable member of the diverse ethnic groups in the Philippines. It continues to make significant contributions to the country's prosperity and development, cementing its role as a vital pillar of the Filipino-Chinese community in Cebu.
